          Younger riders will be called forward after initial judging to give an individual display. Lead reins permitted.

Potential Performance Pony Rules and guidelines

 

Open to all poise up to 14.2hh, any age, any breed.   Special rosettes for top two Dartmoor Hill Ponies (Definition:  A pony who was bred on the commons of Dartmoor

and whose sire and dam run on said commons).

 

This is a qualifier for the Dartmoor Hill Pony Championship to be held at Devon County Show 2011.  First two Dartmoor pony qualify. Show ring looks not required!

 

 

TEST FOR PERFORMANCE IN-HAND PONIES

Each test marked out of 10. Maximum score 100 Pts

1.Lead out from line and stand square @ x, between poles for Judge’s inspection                  10

2.TURN through 180’ on the FOREHAND within the poles                                                          10

3.REVERSE through the uprights                                                                                                  10

4.LEAD over COLOURED pole AT THE TROT                                                                           10

5.LEAD on a LOOSE rein in and out of the OBSTACLES at the walk,pony following handler  10

6.TURN at the end, and trot back to the Judge, LEADING FROM THEOFFSIDE                              10

7.LEAD onto the CARPET and stand for a count of THREE                                                        10

8.PICK UP AND HOLD a forefoot for a count of TWO                                                                10

9.LEAD BACK TO JUDGE and stand SQUARE for TACK and TURNOUT inspection           10
