Horse/pony should be turned out suitable for a days ride on the moor.  Riders should carry a small safety kit.  Marks awarded for cleanliness and safety.

12.    Best grass kept horse and pony – only stabled on winter nights

13.    Best true first ridden pony

14.     Best True Family Horse/Pony - This class requires 2 riders at least 10 years apart in age. The older rider will enter the ring mounted.

                                                Younger riders will be called forward after initial judging to give an individual display. Lead reins permitted.

15.     Best Local pony – to have hacked to the showground

16.     Best Local horse – to have hacked to the showground

 

 

 

 

Ring 3  Clear Round and PTV

 

9.30 am to 1 p.m. - Clear round - a rosette for every clear round jumped

 

17.      PTV – Open to all

(Based on Le Trec Principles)               Commencing 1.30 p.m. approx

 

There will be approximately 14 obstacles based along the lines of BHS

TREC. The class is designed to test the rider’s and horse/pony’s ability to

cope with things they might meet out hacking. There is nothing difficult –

Have a go! In the event of equal points time will decide placings.

 Entries may be split junior/senior depending on numbers.

 

Ring 4 - Veteran Horse Society & Blue Chip Show   Championship 2007 Area Qualifier                             commencing 10am

Open to all.

21.  Pre-veteran: Ridden horse/pony 15-19 years old. Rider any age.

22.  Veteran: ridden, horse/pony 20-24 years old. Rider any age.

23.  Veteran: ridden, horse/pony 25 years & older. Rider any age.

 

No spurs, galloping or the wearing of earrings permitted

 

Notes:

The Veteran Horse Society & Blue Chip Show Championships are open to both Members & Non-Members of the Veteran Horse Society.

Please note that only Veteran Horse Society members are eligible to compete in the Regional championships. Qualification cards will only be given to

Members with their VHS membership cards as proof of their membership to the society.

 

The Regional winners will go on to compete at the Veteran Horse Society & Blue Chip Show championship Supreme Final. Date to be finalized.

 

Membership to the Society must be received no later than 14 days prior to the Area Qualifier Show. LATE MEMBERSHIP WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Potential Performance Pony Rules and guidelines

 

Open to any pony not exceeding 14.2hh Registered/Unregistered. Special rosettes for top two Dartmoor Hill Pony (Definition of a Dartmoor Hill Pony: A pony who was bred on the commons of Dartmoor and whose sire and dam run on said commons).

 

This is a qualifier for the Dartmoor Hill Pony Championship 2008 Championship to be held at Widecombe Fair (Sept 2008). First two Dartmoor pony qualify. Show ring looks not required!
